This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from galapagos-galapagos.com. We never sell or pass on your information to third parties without legal basis. What information do we store and why

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through Galapagos website (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

- Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud;
We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Galapagos website (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with Galapagos website, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
When subscribing to the newsletter, your e-mail address will be used for Galapagos website’s advertising purposes (sending emails), until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.
The newsletter is sent via the shipping service provider “MailChimp”. For this purpose, your e-mail address, as well as usage and communication data, will also be processed by MailChimp. You can revoke your consent to receiving the newsletter at any time by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link at the end of the newsletter.
Who do we share your personal information with and why
I) Shipping partner - In order to deliver your goods, we must share your personal information with our chosen shipping company. With them we share the following information: first name, last name and address. Telephone number and/or e-mail address may also be shared with the shipping company for notification.
II) Payment operator - When you make a payment with us, your personal information is shared with our payment operator. The information is saved so that you can complete the purchase and to protect the parties against fraud. With them we share the following information: first name, last name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and IP address.
III) Essential third parties - For example, we use Google Analytics to help us understand how our customers use Galapagos website, you can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/. Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
How long do we store your personal information
Your information is stored as long as we have a legal basis to process your information, for example to fulfill the agreement between us or to comply with a legal obligation.
Right to be removed
